Intro Example
Criminal sanctions in victoria have been modified and evaluated through various courts and governments over Australia’s short history. Sanctions are penalties imposed by the court for a criminal offence and were designed to punish, protect, deter, denounce and rehabilitate offenders. There are various types of sanctions available in victoria from imprisonment, fines, adjournments, seizure of items and suspensions. While each sanction has its strengths and weaknesses overall, sanctions in victoria work together to uphold societies values and expectations as a community.
